We are currently seeking a part-time Head of People to lead and enhance our diversity efforts, creating an environment where all employees feel valued, heard, and empowered to do their best work.

Position Overview: 

The Head of People (HOP) will spearhead developing, implementing, and continuously refining our diversity, equity, inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) strategies across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of DEIA best practices and change management and have a passion for fostering an inclusive workplace culture.  This role requires strategic thinking, strong leadership, and a commitment to driving measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop, execute, and evaluate DEIA strategies that align with corporate objectives, ensuring DEIA is embedded in all facets of the organization.
  • Policy Development: Create policies and practices that support a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment, focusing on recruitment, hiring, training, retention, and advancement.
  • Employee Engagement: Collaborate with HR and internal stakeholders to foster an inclusive culture through employee resource groups, mentorship programs, and company-wide DEIA initiatives.
  • Education and Training: Design and implement training programs to promote awareness, reduce unconscious bias, and equip employees with tools for inclusive behaviors.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Monitor DEIA metrics, analyze trends, and use data to refine DEIA strategies and measure initiative effectiveness.
  • Community Engagement: Liaison with external partners and community organizations to promote diversity and inclusion outside the company and strengthen our public commitment.
  • Compliance and Advocacy: Ensure compliance with DEIA-related regulations and advocate for policy changes that enhance DEIA practices internally and externally.
  • Workforce Development: Deliver skill-building and career advancement programs to cultivate an inclusive talent pipeline, ensuring equitable access to mentorship, training, and leadership opportunities.
  • DEIA Advisory Board: Establish and lead a cross-functional board of diverse stakeholders to drive DEIA strategies, review progress, and foster accountability for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree in human resources, organizational development, DEIA, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in DEIA, HR, or related field with proven success leading diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong understanding of DEIA metrics and KPIs and experience leveraging data to drive strategy and accountability.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire stakeholders.
  • Commitment to DEIA: Deep passion for fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace and a strong understanding of DEIA best practices.
