Sylvatex is currently seeking to hire a lab technician. As a lab technician at Sylvatex, you will support the development of new cathode processing techniques for Li-ion battery testing. You are passionate about positively impacting the environment with innovative clean energy solutions. You are proactive and capable of operating in a fast-paced startup environment with little supervision. Curiosity and optimism are two of your superpowers. This role will report to the Engineering Director.
The Role:
- Running and maintaining processing equipment associated with material production (e.g., kilns, mills, etc.)
- Create robust documentation (e.g., batch records, SOPs, reports) and preventative maintenance plans
- Coordinate with researchers to execute and document experimental runs
- Candidate should be able to lift 20-30 pounds daily
- Should be familiar with basic mechanical tools (wrench, drills, etc.)
- Prepare electrodes for battery cell assembly and support electrochemical testing
- Maintain clean and well-organized lab areas that meet safety regulations
- Support the commission of incoming equipment and create documentation for equipment/processes with the help of engineers
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and above
- R&D experience in an industry setting is a plus
- Ability to multitask and liaise with professionals in different fields
- Proficiency in MS Office or similar
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations
