Based in the Financial District with laboratories at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and USDA Albany, Sylvatex is leading the research & development of renewable nanoparticles across a myriad of commercial applications. Initially focused on a biofuels application, Sylvatex has evolved to develop a green nanochemistry platform that has applications in solutions for industry processing, materials stability and fuels.
Objective: Sylvatex is currently looking for a student intern (PhD or Masters with a technical background preferred) to support the business development aspect of the company. Your key skills will include the ability to research and succinctly summarize potential end users for Sylvatex to target in the future, work on grants and funding opportunities that might be beneficial to Sylvatex, co-ordinate with the team in order to assist with other business development tasks such as market research, competitor analysis for Sylvatex’s product, regulatory compliance research etc.
Responsibilities & duties might include, but are certainly not limited to:
-Assist in potential end user/OEM analysis
-Research prospective funding announcements and summarize them
-Assist in technical data translations for the business model or proposals
-Co-ordinate supply chain efforts for Sylvatex
-Assist with market research for Sylvatex’s product for US and foreign markets

Full time (40 hours/week)
Flexible schedule with some mandatory days in SF office for team meetings and 1-1 catch-ups.
Initially unpaid – stipend available pending level of experience.
